Immunizations

Required Vaccinations

To ensure the safety and health of all pets at Ruffin’ Inn, proof of the following vaccinations is required at least 10 days prior to your dog or cat’s arrival. This applies to all boarding, daycare, and grooming guests.

Please upload a current copy of your pet’s vaccination records from your veterinarian to your pet profile, or email them to support@ruffininn.com.

All reservations must have up-to-date vaccinations on file before they can be accepted. For the fastest booking experience, we recommend uploading your pet’s vaccination records when making a reservation to keep everything organized in one place.

Dog Vaccinations

  • DHPP (Distemper Vaccine)
A 1-year or 3-year DHPP vaccination is required. This vaccine protects against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza.
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough Vaccine)
Required every 12 months; however, we strongly recommend vaccination every 6 months and at least 14 days before check-in for maximum protection.
Note: Many veterinarians administer this vaccine only upon request; it may not be part of a standard annual exam.
  • Rabies Vaccine
A 1-year or 3-year Rabies vaccine is required. Puppies under 6 months may be exempt with prior approval from Ruffin’ Inn staff.
  • Canine Influenza Vaccine
Not required but highly recommended to protect against respiratory illness.
Canine Influenza first appeared in the U.S. in 2015 following exposure to infected dogs from Korea. Symptoms often resemble Kennel Cough.
Dogs who receive the Bordetella vaccine are at similar risk and may benefit from this additional protection.
We encourage all guests to be vaccinated; please consult your veterinarian.
  • Fecal Parasite Check
A negative fecal test, performed by your veterinarian within the last year, is required.
This requirement may be waived if your dog is on a broad-spectrum, year-round heartworm preventative program—please ask us for details!

Cat Vaccinations

  • FVRCP Vaccine
A 1-year or 3-year FVRCP vaccination is required. This protects against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia.
  • Rabies Vaccine
A 1-year or 3-year Rabies vaccine is required.
  • Feline Leukemia (FeLV) Vaccine
Strongly recommended for all feline guests, especially those who may have any exposure to other cats.
Please consult your veterinarian for guidance on the Feline Leukemia vaccine prior to your pet’s stay.
