🐕 Dog Vaccines
Required
Rabies
1-year or 3-year
Required by law. Puppies under 6 months may be exempt with prior approval from Ruffin Inn staff.

DHPP (Distemper)
1-year or 3-year
Protects against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza.
Required
Bordetella
Annual (every 6 months recommended)
Protects against kennel cough. Should be administered at least 14 days before check-in for maximum protection.
Many vets only give this upon request — it may not be part of a standard annual exam.

Canine Influenza
Per vet recommendation
Highly recommended to protect against respiratory illness. Symptoms often resemble kennel cough. Dogs who receive Bordetella are at similar risk and may benefit from this additional protection.
We encourage all guests to be vaccinated — consult your veterinarian.

Fecal Parasite Check
Negative test within last year
A negative fecal test performed by your veterinarian within the last year.
May be waived if your dog is on a broad-spectrum, year-round heartworm preventative — just ask!
🐱 Cat Vaccines
Required
FVRCP

Protects against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia.

Required for all feline guests.

Feline Leukemia (FeLV)
Per vet recommendation
Required for all feline guests, especially those who may have any exposure to other cats.
Consult your veterinarian for guidance prior to your pet’s stay.
Health Policy: Pets showing signs of illness at check-in will not be permitted to stay. If a guest shows signs of illness during their stay, we will contact you immediately to discuss care and next steps.
